Ainsley Schwarm, a 5th grader at Tom McCall Elementary, was named the winner of the 2026 Redmond “If I Were Mayor…” Student Contest in the poster category. She received her winning certificate from Mayor Ed Fitch and briefly shared her ideas with members of the City Council, explaining that if she were mayor, she would focus on expanding youth activities and creating more parks in Redmond. As the local winner, Ainsley’s poster will advance to the Oregon Mayor’s Association contest, where it will compete against entries from students across the state.
